Terms
What we agree to
Plain English, because a service you can leave in a month should not need a lawyer to read. These terms apply from the day your site goes live.
What €65 a month covers
Design and build of your site, hosting, an SSL certificate, backups, security updates, and changes to your text, photos, prices and opening hours. Small structural changes — a new section, a different layout, an extra form field — are included too and are normally done within the same week. You also get an account in the portal where you can change your own text, see your visitor numbers and read every enquiry your site received.
What it does not cover
Your domain name is billed separately at cost, normally €10 to €15 a year. A webshop, a booking system, a login area for your customers, a second language, or writing your text and taking your photos are not included. If you want any of those, we will quote for it before doing anything.
The free mockup
We design your homepage and send it before you owe anything. There is no account, no card and no obligation. If you do not want it, that is the end of it — you owe nothing and hear from us no further. The design stays ours until you become a client, at which point it becomes yours.
Who owns what
Your text, your photos and your domain name are yours, during and after. The design of your site becomes yours once you have paid for one month. You can download everything you have written from your portal at any time, and we will hand over your domain to whoever you name.
What stays ours is the underlying template the site is built on, which we also use for other clients. If you leave, you take your content, your design and your domain; you do not take our codebase.
Paying
€65 per month excluding VAT, collected by direct debit through Mollie on the same day each month, starting the day your site goes live. If a collection fails we email you and try again; if it fails twice we call. Nothing is switched off without us speaking to you first.
Leaving
One month's notice, always, by email to hello@builtneatly.com. No exit fee, no final invoice for work already done, no penalty. On your last day we hand you your content and transfer your domain, and your site stays online for thirty days after that so nothing breaks while you move. After thirty days we take it down and delete your data.
What we promise, and what we do not
We aim for your site to be reachable at all times and it is hosted on infrastructure built for that, but we do not promise a percentage of uptime and we cannot be held liable for losses caused by downtime, by a hosting provider's outage, or by your site being unavailable for any reason. If something is broken, tell us and we fix it — usually within hours.
We are responsible for the site working. You are responsible for what it says: that you have the right to use the photos and text you give us, and that what you claim about your business is true.
Your visitors' data
Your site counts visitors without cookies and without building a profile, and stores the enquiries people send you. In doing that we process data on your behalf, which under the GDPR makes us your processor. What that means in practice: we only use that data to run your site and show you your own numbers, we never sell it or use it for anything else, we keep it inside the EU, and we delete it when you leave. If you need a signed data processing agreement for your own records, email us and you will have one.
Changing these terms
If we change anything here that affects you, we email you at least a month beforehand. If you do not agree, your notice period runs from that email.
The legal bit
Dutch law applies. These terms are between you and Built Neatly, whose registration details are on every invoice. If any part of this turns out not to hold up, the rest still does.
